2011 Suzuki RM-Z 250 wont idle

Recommended Posts

I have a 2011 Suzuki RMZ 250 that will only idle for 15-20 seconds. Did a valve inspection and they are all in spec, did a leak down test, only had 5% leak down, did a compression test and had 78psi. According to the service manual it should have between 57-114psi. I tested the fuel pressure from the pump and has 41psi which according to the manual its in spec. So I know its not compression, and not fuel pump. I threw a new spark plug in it and still having the same problem. Just recently bought it but the air filter had no oil on it but was really clean. Any ideas?

Check to make sure the idle screw is adjusted correctly.. next, make sure your TPS is set correctly, finally, try keeping it running by jump start or use choke to get the bike to running temp, then see if it idles. Could it just be cold? Check fuel filter to make sure its clean. Oh and one more thing, check your tip over sensor. Sometimes it bends and trips the sensor.
