Snow and my dirt scooter

Hey y'all I'm moving back to michigan this January and as I'm sure y'all know it's Gnna be cold and snowy as f$&k. My question is what should I be expecting to do to my bike in order to be run safely in those temps.

I read that it was good to make a shield type thing for the carb. Any ideas on how or what ya make a shield out of?

I just throw the track on and ride. the colder temps tend to be offset by the higher elevation. normal summer jetting has run well all the way to 10,000ft from sea level. Need to figure out how to power my grip heaters though!
