2006 Suzuki DRZ-400sm Leaking Fuel

Recommended Posts

LEAKING FUEL!!!!!

This is the second time it's been leaking fuel. The first time was 3 months ago I was at a gas station and after I filled up, it started trickling out. I found the source of the leak, it was at the very bottom of the gas tank. It looks like there was supposed to be a hose leading somewhere but the previous owner may have just plugged it with plastic plug which eventually corroded and cracked. I bought some generic plastic plugs at O'Reilly and plugged it up and it's been fine for a few months but it's leaking again. I know the plugs aren't fuel-rated so their being eaten away.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Thanks!!!

Buy some quality grade fuel line in the diameter you need & put a small pigtail on it plugged with a bolt or something that gas wont eat away. My guess that it a return, or vent line that used to either go to the carb or tuck up into the frame somewhere.
