YZ250 Brake line dry with crusty old fluid-how to repair?

Recommended Posts

Got a 1986 YZ250 and 1986 Suzuki RM 250 and both bikes have been sitting for years. Cleaned the carburetors and the bikes run good. But both have crusty old dry brake fluid on the front brake systems. How should I start, I'm thinking pulling off the calipers, brake hose and master cylinders. Is there any tips on how to clean out the old dry crusty brake fluid? Neither bike brake  system does anything. The lever just goes to the bars and no pressure. Is this an easy fix or should it go to a shop for repair?
