Crf 230 problem

I've recently purchased a 2007 crf230 and I noticed something a little wrong after the first big ride today.

After about two hours of riding I realized the engine was idling high and would drive on its own. So I adjusted the idle and it idles better but still drives even when I have its set really low. It will sometimes stall but only going uphill. Yet it still drives by itself on flat ground.

Is this normal for these bikes? My worst fear is that the clutch is going or something. I know that these bikes have a beginners type clutch so you can drive with the clutch half out. But I have never heard of them driving with the clutch fully out..

When it idles too high, with a spray bottle adjusted to shoot a sharp stream, (not spray)squirt (one at a time) water around the carb and intake manifold to find a vacuum leak.

Would that be the reason it's driving by itself?

Maybe try adjusting the clutch play at the lever

If its not that simple then it sounds like your clutch plates are not separating or are sticking. It could be poor oil or your clutch basket is worn and has grooves in it restricting the separation of the plates.

It's just not stalling most of the time. I just changed the oil so that could be it too. But the main thing I'm concerned about is that it won't stall out it will just keep going.
