Throttle lag and "flames" out exhaust.

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what's causing the issue, I think it's the jetting but I figured I'd ask here first. There's a little lag between when I rev the throttle and when the bike actually revs. VERY little. Also, my bike backfires and when it backfires "flames" shoot out of the exhaust. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

That could be unburnt fuel in the exhaust ignighting . could be a combination of carby problem , valve clearance. You may be right about jetting. Drain the fuel bowl and give every thing a clean air filter etc. See what happens.

Thanks! I'll clean it out and see what happens. I'm thinking there might have been unburnt fuel since this has never happened before, and I haven't ridden the bike seriously in over 6 months. Just start it up and ride it around the property to make sure everything's good. Thanks again!
