Xr100 120 big bore jetting

Recommended Posts

Ok I'm rebuilding my 1985 xr100 and I've got a couple of carb questions. I'm putting in the bbr 120 kit, a fmf powercore 4, a uni pod filter, a 15 tooth front sprocket, a 48 rear sprocket, and I want to get a new carb cause I really don't want to rebuild mine. What size should I get a 24mm or 26mm and what jets should I use? I live in Georgia and my elevation is 679ft.

Do not remove the airbox and air boot. That will make jetting a nightmare and actually slow the bike down.

As far as the optimum carb size, you are better off asking the guys in the XR forum. I will tell you jetting will not change by much and chances are, if you stay wityh a stock carb, you will have to lean it and if you go up a size, current jetting numbers will probably be fine. I moved this to the XR area for you.

Yeah I figured it'd be a pain to rejet.. Wait it will slow it down? I always thought that the air increase would greatly increase my power, especially if I added a pipe at the same time
