What kind of transmission oil can I use in my 2000 kx250?

Recommended Posts

I reckon Google would have you answers.

I would say 10w-40.

Maybe Kawi makes an oil for it, I dunno.

Go to motosport.com and look at the fluids they list for your bike.

Motor oil is fine in a wet clutch system as long as it is not marked as energy conserving or says it has friction. Modifiers in it.

Read the owners manual and buy the oil of your choice that meets the spec

ATF Type F. Advanced auto parts brand is like $3 a bottle. I get 5 or 6 bottles before each season and usually I make it though.

Just buy it and be done with it.

WOW. 5 or 6 lasts me about a week. Good thing my wife is a General Manager of an Advance Auto Parts. 20% discount.

Yeah, but you've got a whole bunch of bikes. And riders, at that. Its rare that I ride more than 4 or 5 times a month.

I've used atf type f and 10w 40 and 10w 30 they all work well. Just make sure not to use synthetic cause it can ruin your clutch
