Drz Damage

Recommended Posts

Hey guys as you guys may know I dropped my dizzer 3 times couple days ago. Today after i put my ctx up I realized that the rear wheel was not aligned. I'll attach a few pictures of the damage. Nothing bad just cosmetic, at least I hope. If you guy know why it's not aligned please help I would highly appreciated it

id start by making sure the rear sub frame is straight.  that could be what you are seeing, and not the wheel/swingarm itself.

Let's say it's not straight

, do I have to buy a new one? What would be the options I have.

it got some personality additions, COOL

ya, that subframe looks tweaked. you can either just ride the bike like that for another 30,000 miles, or buy a new one on ebay. aluminum doesn't like to be twisted very many times.

you can try loosening the SUBframe bolts, move everything, then tighten again.

no biggie :)

Too hard to tell with the angle of pic and the rag covering rear fender. Have you checked wheel alignment on swing arm ? Are they at same marks on both sides ? If they are then swingarm (unlikely) or subframe. Check wheel first.

If it's just the sub-frame, oh well. Give 'er a tweak and see if you can re-align it.

The rear wheel looks fine. Its the subframe that is bent as others have said. It bends really easily. I've bent mine myself. You can pick a used one up off of eBay but its kind of pricey. Around $300 dollars. If you do decide to get one of eBay. Make sure its a "DRZ400S" or "DRZ400SM" subframe, not a DRZ400. That`s because the dirt bike model does not have the subframe extended all the way support the rear fender. From what I have heard, aluminum does not like to be bent numerous times. With that said. I took off the rear plastics so the subframe was exposed and pryed on the subframe with a bar till i got it close. You will need a buddy to support the bike while you pry it and a level to check your progress. Took about 10 minutes.
