KLX front sprocket retainer problem.

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am trying to remove the front sprocket of my KLX300. I bought a 27mm socket. Hammered back the retainer washer.

Now, why is the nut moving when I turn it counter clockwise? I read it is supposed to be very difficult. I have a breaker bar

so I'm set. But it keeps moving (not getting loose) and there's a sound coming from the bike everytime I turn the nut. (Again, it's not getting loose, just moves)

Any help is appreciated.

Is the chain still on the bike? If so hold the back brake while wrenching

Put a chain on to hold it. Could also get a plastic cylinder stop and put it in gear, but i don't know if that would over stress the gears. I'd just through a chain on it.
