KTM 525 MXC GEARING

I road in the woods last weekend and the bike is geared way to high. I now have a 13 tooth front sproket and 48 rear. The bike is used as a duel sport so I don't want to ruin the top end speed too much. Any suggestions on sproket combo's?

You are stuck with very close ratio transmission ratios with the MXC which makes it a poor choice in a dual sport bike. 13/48 is about as low as you can go for decent dual sport gearing. 13/52 would be much better for the woods but would really limit top end and cruising. The best solution would an EXC tranny gear swap.

So I'm hearing I can put a 1st and 2nd gear in the trans out of a EXC and have the best of both worlds? Is this easy and how expensive?

you can change the gear box, but it is a bunch of work. How about getting a second rear wheel complete setup with different gearing and a tire for either road or dirt.
