2009 ktm 65 fouling plugs.

Recommended Posts

The bike runs great for 4 or 5 rides then will just foul a plug. It doesn't load up spit or sputter. There's a lot of gas coming out the tube and just wondered if it had something to do with the float. Running 60 to 1 like Ktm recommends. Jetting seems good. Thanks

Your jetting is probably off. Without much of a description in the description we can only guess. Most likely need to go one size smaller on the main. Possible needle change too.

Check your PV hoses.  If either one is clogged you will foul plugs................

Thanks to both u guys, came off a kx 65 and starting to have some problems with the Ktm already, the little kx was a reliable platform and I miss it. So does my boy, he wants it back. I should have listened, I was warned about the Ktm, everyone said you'll be faster on the Ktm, he was just as fast on the kx. I've already sunk some decent amount of money into the Ktm, for repairs, the kx hardly needed anything.

Google LCP Jet Kit for KTM 65. Contact Lonny and he will get you straightened out. Been running his jet kit in all our 65's and now the 85. No more plug issues and bikes run perfect

When rings/compression are weak you start to foul plugs, that is what clears the fuel from combustion chamber.

It's not a bike problem, it's a maintenance problem.  You bought a used bike & are blaming the bike for issues?  Tear down to frame & go through each piece.................................The KX is fast as long as you never leave the ground..............

I don't quite remember, but my bud owns a bike repair shop, and he told me it was great, he's a very good mechanic. I'll ask him again, and post it. But the bike runs strong, for a while, then will foul the plug, I'll put a new plug in and it's running great again. I think if compression wAs the issue it wouldn't rum so good. The jetting is also set up to recommendations, for the pro circuit pipe and silencer, and vforce reeds.

No he rides very aggresive always on the pipe. I think it was the pv tube being clogged i cleaned it out like that guy told me, and it working grrst now. I also adjusted the carb a little, seems to be great now thanks.
