Cr 125 af build

Recommended Posts

The easiest way to do the conversion would be to buy a used cr frame and cut the cradle out and weld it up no need to line up motor mounts. Just the sprockets. ImageUploadedByThumper Talk1410930799.621439.jpgImageUploadedByThumper Talk1410930926.781032.jpgt

This is my cr250af. The engine cradle is from a 01 cr250 that i bought on ebay for $70. Took me about a day and a half to cut, fit, align, weld.

185 sounds close to me. My 06 crf250 is 204 dry, I would imagine the 14 is less and the GFs 01 cr is 198 according to Honda. Is a 125 engine 10lbs lighter then a 250f? Is the modern frame, swing arm, suspension combo 10lbs lighter then the CR stuff?

Switching to a single can on my 06 chops 6-7lbs off the bike alone. Which gets it under the 125's dry weight. Now subtract the weight difference in the engine. I don't think a 190 dry weight is unreasonable in a Strait swap over. The. Start bolting on lighter stuff everywhere, including the bolts. You can find 5 pounds or so pretty easy.
