Arizona Riding near Maricopa

Just getting back into riding after a couple years off. Now live in Maricopa and am wondering if there is anywhere near by for me to go riding? I know about the track down in Casa Grande, which is great for me, but the Mrs. just got her first dirtbike so tracks are a little outside her comfort zone and ability. I have researched all of the places up north and east but looks like they are all at least an hour or two away. Was hopin for somewhere maybe a little closer. I have seen some areas between here and Gila Bend on the 238 that look promising but but not sure if it is OK to ride there. I know some of it is private land but a good chunk of it looks to be open. At least thats how it looks from the air. IF not no worries, I have been spoiled up unitl now with riding places 15 min away max.
