top end gasket question

Recommended Posts

hey guys I have just a couple of questions if someone could help me out, Im about to do a top end rebuild on my 96 wr360 Husqvarna and I got a Athena top end gasket kit from my local husky dealer and there are a few o ring type gaskets that im not sure what they are for and I can not find anywhere possible to put them as far as I know in the top end either (is it possible that cause the kit says cr/wr360 that its different for the cr?), also theres 2 green paper type gaskets wich of course are easy to work out where they go but should I use both together or use just 1 if its around the same thickness as my old one? anyways heres the pic, I know what the left 3 are 2 are head o rings and the other seems to be exhaust seal (or at least it seems like it would fit that) its the right hand side 3 im unsure about the smaller one seems to be more like a washer type thing than a actual o ring seal anyways some help with what they might be or someone who has done these rebuilds many times could point out what they come generaly come with would be appreciated

Some newer cylinders use Orings to seal the head while retaining the traditional gasket for the base. If your rig requires an Oring type gasket there will be grooves that the ring will fit in.

yea I get what the paper type are for it uses those and 2 of the o rings as well but the kit comes with 3 other o rings I dunno what they are for

Some of them belong on the small covers on the lower cases, like the power valve.

no powervalve ones come with my kit, and the only other side cover one I thought might fit is the waterpump seal but its too big so cant be, ive seen on ebay they have entire top end kit that comes with case gaskets and everything but myns just a top end kit that is generaly just for doing piston changes im guessing, I had to source a powervalve gasket separate so I could clean it all out and stuff, basically im going to be putting it back together using what I need from the kit that I took off when pulling it apart wich still leaves at least 3 o rings not being used cause I cant find a use for it
