RM 125 jetting and temp

Recommended Posts

I have 2 identically modded 125s my son rides/races. I thought. They both run awesome. After this weekend with cooler temps and one running normal and the other bogging I looked at jets. The good running bike has a 390 main, the bogger had a 370 OEM.

Question is, will that difference in jetting cause a bog at WOT in approx 20* cooler temps but be unnoticeable in warmer ones?

Is there a rule of thumb for temp difference vs jet change?

Ie: increase 15*f decrease 1 jet size?

Or how much temp variation could a particular main jet handle? I'm guessing it is border line lean with the OEM anyway at 70* if at 50 it bogged.

I'm over thinking this aren't I ? Lol

Thanks again guys. I really have no way to do plug checks the right way and want to get it as close as possible with either a 380 or 390. The bike with the 390 seemed to smoke in warmer more humid conditions.
