2004 Kx250f smart upgrades to make?

Recommended Posts

Change your oil and filters often. Nothing you can do that is more important than that for reliability. Check you valves if it gets hard to start. Easy to fix valve clearance, hard (expensive) to fix a bombed engine.

Follow the pre and post-ride checks from your owners manual and you will be doing more than most people ever do to keep their bikes running long term. Oh, and wash it after every ride. :ride:

I have a 2004 kx250f that is in the shop and i was wondering after rebuilding it what things should i buy to make the bike more reliable. I'm some what new to 4-stroke and am curious.

I agree with lshd. Most aftermarket parts add wear and tear to an engine. Keep the oil and the air clean. One suggestion might be oversized radiators. Keeping the engine from overheating will reduce failures as well, like warped heads and blown gaskets. But that's just my opinion.
