Black rims

Does anyone know how to keep black rims black and not fade? I have a 2014 kx250f and all around the edges of the rims are fading.

1. Remove wheels from bike.

2. Store in dark basement.

 

In all seriousness there is not much you can do about it.  I always go over my rims with WD40 on a rag when they look dingy which makes it shine a little.  Around the edges are especially tough though since your tires and tools for mounting tires will rub in that area during tire changes.  If it really bothers you go over the faded areas with a black sharpie.

Yeah the sharpie sounds like a good idea. I'll let my friend know because after his last tire change with a dry rotted tire we tore that thing up pretty good.

What about removing the anodizing to just have a plain aluminum finish? I had a black rim once and will never again have anything other than silver since that is the only color that doesn't look like crap after a month of riding.
