2004 YZ 125 clutch not disengaging

Recommended Posts

So I have a 2004 yz125, the top end is fine, bottom end is fine, transmission is fine, just the clutch, it doesn't disengage properly. I had just got it today and had noticed that when the bike is off, I'll put it in 1st gear and pull inthe clutch and the bike won't move, If I push hard enough the engine will turn over. I was riding the bike earlier today and it shifted fine. I had just got it today too and the guy had it sitting for 6 months. I read about a thread saying there was a silly little bearing but I don't know. Any help would be appreciated.

Most Yamaha clutches (and others I suspect) will drag slightly when cold. When I'm warming up an engine to go ride, I will hold the clutch lever in for 30 seconds or so, right before leaving, so that oil has found it's way through all of the clutch plates, allowing the clutch to engage more "smoothly".
