Suspension Q - Fill in the Blanks

Recommended Posts

A while back a suspension pro was playing around with my bike - pushing and pulling on the bars and seat. He said to me ... " this is good, the ___________ should always be faster than the ___________".

I assume he was talking compression and rebound. Can anyone fill in the blanks? Or was he a mental case?

Compression..... Rebound.

If rebound is faster than compression, it will pogo with possible loss of control.

However, if there is too much rebound, it will pack down and become very stiff.

Suspension is both an art and a science and requires a lot of study.  Read up if you're interested.

Thank you Ron.

Yes sir.  Now that I've got maintenance down my full attention is on the suspension.
