This fella did the frame in 'blue' old school, but thinkin want to go back with the 'OEM' color since I want to keep it looking more 'stock'.

Does anyone know if the powder coating is a pain if you had to have it redone like 'chips' that is why I always avoided it. Muchless having to strip it again...

I used color-rite which is an exact match to the OEM metallic grey

Thanks did you get a paint gun and do it yourself?

That is kinda the direction I am going, unless I can find a independent paint shop that will shoot it for me.

Do you know how much I would need by chance for 1 frame?

I used the aerosol can and sprayed it myself. 1 can should be enough. Be sure to prep it good and I would definitely use the clear coat over it. Otherwise it won't last long.📎p9.JPG

Where did you get the clear coat at?

That frame looked great, so you ordered the 1 can of color right and did you get the clear coat sprayed over it after the other dried?

thanks

Color-Rite also sells the clear. I didn't use it and wish I did, without it the paint stands no chance against MX.

I think I found it on amazon.com the paint in the can and the clear from color-rite as a package deal.

Just been so long since I have used any quality paints like this, use to in the past when I rode a lot. Now more of a weekend warrior or a 1 weekend warrior a month. Need to get a shot in my shoulder of cortisone from a older mx crash injury bothers me every so many years...

I think that is the correct one, and the clear is included. My RM250 is a low hour bike and the 125 I picked up had a few more on it so got it down to the frame right now. Fixin to get some parts ordered up, just kinda going through what I will be needing on it.
