Ok, did a top end, new starter, and a full Rekluse Core 3.0. Took the right side engine case off to do a good cleaning. Got everything back together and shifter will not spring back from first gear. Any idea would be helpful!

Lock mechanism is in backwards maybe. 

 

Or the shift shaft return spring popped off its holder when you pulled the cover off.

Ok took clutch / case off. It works perfectly when it's off. The problem seem to be that I used liquid gasket instead of a factory gasket. The tolerance must be that tight. What your thoughts?

Sounds like you need a gasket.

Bingo! You need the correct gasket, it will not work with just RTV or anything of that sort.  There is a tight tolerance where the case cover provides a stop to the shift shaft.

Don't know why but that gasket is hell to find!
