suspention length difference

Recommended Posts

hi, basically when you turn LEFT on my bike (susuki rm 125 y2000) the front end ALWAYS trys to slide out, ive taken them off today and the LEFT SIDE fork is about an inch longer than the right, why might this have happened? I was using a useless mechanic for a while who caused me nothing but more problems, he tryed to sort the cornering problem by increasing the return on the front forks, he said they were near max on the return.....now when i get to top end speeds, 5,6 gear, the bikes uncontrollable, it bucks off the ground like a bull and keeps going into tank slappers and still trys to come out from underneith you when turning left, as soon as i slid the forks out the stearing stem you saw the left fork rise above the right, has anybody got any ideas whats going on? cheers.

Any visible damage on the fork tube, little dings or dents?

Triple clamp bolts torqued to specs.? overtightening can damage the tubes.

Sounds like there is some sort of internal friction,

Fork will still have to be dissassembled, inspected and worn/damaged components replaced.
