2013 RZR 800 intake and air filtration issues?

Recommended Posts

Doesn't look like there is much activity on this TT forum!

Going to throw this out there anyway.

Have been researching faults and issues with the 800 intake air design, watched video on freshly cleaned system and how much dirt get past the stock filter system after just a few hours ride time in dusty conditions. Have heard that continued use of stock system means only a matter of time before needing motor rebuild. Going to upgrade to new system. Have looked at AIRAID Powersports intake systems with snorkel, UMP's, and some other snorkel kits that seem a little cheesy, ABS pipe and plumbing fittings, pre filters that attach to air box and mount in the bed. So far I'm most interested in the AIRAID product.

Has any one upgraded to any of these air intake systems? Just looking for some honest 3rd party reviews.

0 feedback? Went for it. Pics of filter box was after about 5-6 hours ride time. Pic of the air box is all the hours of riding since bought new, 800 miles just thin film of dust. Does not explain the amount of dirt getting to the filter box? The foam gasket on filter box tube connection from air box is pretty dirty on one half but doesn't explain amount of dirt either? You can also see a fine film of dust in the intake tube that made it past the stock filter.

If anyone is interested to see, I will have pics posted after first ride with AIRAID.
