Handle bar clamps

So the other day I got a trail tech endurance 2 and the hard case for it. I went to mount it and quickly found out that it wouldn't set flush with handle bar mounts so I milled it out flush so they would sit flush, and now I'm having second thoughts ... Wondering if there is still enough meat on the bone to be safe. What's your honest opinion if I should use these or should I get New and make a spacer to make it set flush?

no way would I ride with those hacked clamps. Back to the drawing board.

Took you advise and went to the drawing board and redesigned the whole clamp so the shallowest part of it is an 1/8 inch this one should hold up a lot better

why not just use a washer or two under mount with a longer bolt to get same thread depth and torque as normal????

 

or better yet grind little off the trail tech mount vs bar clamps???

I thought about that... after I milled it out and noticed that it was really thin  . So instead of spending $50 on new mounts, I am going to make some new, and better mounts that can incorporate the trail tech mount. (Advantages of owning a machine shop   )

Glad you decided to "round file" your original machined clamps, they were definitely unsafe to use.  If your custom made Trail Tech handlebar clamps come out nice, you may have a new product to sell.
