Rekluse with OEM clutch cover

Recommended Posts

On some Rekluse units, the clutch sits slightly outside the clutch basket. When you engage the clutch, the pressure plate might not have enough room to fully expand because it hits the clutch cover... As a bonus the Rekluse cover allows you to use a bit more oil too...

You might have enough room, or be able to use a couple gaskets to push the cover out farther. On some models this also can interfere with the rear brake...

When you install the clutch parts the Exp unit goes in last and will be proud of the basket, which is why you need the Rekluse cover as it provide the necessary clearance. The alternative is to make a spacer ring for the stock cover that will provide enough clearance for the clutch. Comparing the internal depth of the OEM and Rekluse covers would indicate the thickness needed for the  spacer ring.

I have a Rekluse Core Exp 3 in my X and I like it.
