KDX 200 still wont run

Recommended Posts

I've got more questions than answers at this point.

Is this the same bike as in this thread?  https://thumpertalk.com/topic/1116733-kdx-200-bored-to-a-300/#entry12110159

When you say complete bottom end rebuild, was the crank rebuilt as well?  All bearings were replaced?

Its still there. Bike wont run.

I'm a little confused on this.  I assume "its still there" refers to the noise it was making before. But if the engine isn't running then you wouldn't be able to hear the noise.

No. Not the same bike. And its like a catch when you try to kick it. It hits compression then has a catch when you kick it through. And yes everything was replaced top and bottom.

Here is also a little more info on when the bike started acting up. When I took it apart the flywheel key was broke. Could that cause anything to be off? Ive got a new one on and installed. Also when you kick it with no plug it kicks through fine. Only when you put the plug in.

out of time more than likely if woodruff key

If I take the stator and flywheel off the catch is still there. Its almost like it hits compression about 3/4 of the way down the kick. I dont think it has to do with timing. If you still think its a timing issue can you help me figure it out or tell me how to fix it.

Most times a slight hit on the main flap is due to worn KIPS parts. Check all the shafts, pivots, gears, etc.., for wear and places of possible slack.

Dont think its the powervavles. Took some parts off and just held the main flap well out of the way. Still wont kick through correctly.
