Right on man, I am over by Aliante Casino. I will let you know when I have a free weekend to ride.

I live about a mile north from Aliante in the newer Centex community off Grand Teton. We might live a block from each other and not even know it! Lol!

Normally this would not kick my ass but I thought I could hit it slow with some clutch! Wrong! One of our favorite trails at Jean.

Went riding this morning at Apex with Pete (rmzpegger) and his group of riding buddies. Was a damn fun ride! Everyone was friendly, respectful and experienced. Thanks again Pete for the invite.

Justin, It was good to meet you and a fun dust free ride for a change! Everyone was impressed with your speed on that new Kawasaki! We've got a crap load of riding places to show you! Enjoyed the ride!

Later, Pete

I just found out today that I'm going to be working out of the Henderson area. One of the jobsites is actually in Jean.

I was wondering what the riding is like in the area (Henderson-Primm), if it's just fire roads and gnarly stuff?

Also if it just gets too roasty at a certain point where you just can't ride, or is there some forest or elevation to go to?

Thanks much!

We ride all over the Las Vegas Valley. It can be as hard or as easy as you want. When the temps get extreme we ride right when the sun comes up and are usually back to the truck at nine-ish. About mid summer we will start riding Cold Creek. Elevation 11500ft but we usually don't get above about 8000ft. It's about 15 - 20 degrees cooler for half the ride. We start at Cold Creek, Mount Charleston where the state prisons are and ride over the mountain to Pahrump where we get something to eat, gas up and then back over the mountain.

That sounds very cool to me!

If it's okay I'd like to meet up for a ride when I get situated out that way. It'll prob be a few weeks. I guess I'll get a storage space to stash the bike.

Does nv have any off road permits or restrictions? I have my motorcycles license for street and my 14' 300xcw is AZ plated....not looking to ride it on the streets at all.

Yes, they started a sticker program a couple of years ago. Very low compliance and little personnel or money to enforce it as far as I can see. About half the guys I ride with don't have them. I won't divulge if any of my bikes are decaled. I run six different bikes and keep $250 dollars to myself every year. The whole program is a total crock of shit! There are some areas the BLM and County say are off limits.

When you're ready to ride shoot me a PM.

Looks like fun!  I am new to Las Vegas too (refugee from S. Calif.), and am always looking for new places to ride.  So far I have been to Jean, Apex and Cold Mountain.  I was at the Mike's Moto Supply last weekend and the guy was telling me Ute is a real nice place to ride.  I am available most weekends and many weekdays too, send me a message next time you head out to the trails.

Really glad to hear there's cool stuff, can't wait!

I'll be out that way the end of the month.

Glad to see some more Vegas locals popping up on here. My weekends are a little limited between now and my wedding which is in mid March but I may have some weekends open. We should all get together sometime soon!

That looks fun!

Do you need to be plated and street legal to do most of your rides?

I won't be ready until the following weekend (28th). This week will be my first work week and I need to get a storage space then I can bring bike n gear.
