Round 6 "The Rock Stars Prison Break" Updates

Round 6 of the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship Series, "The Rock Stars Prison Break" is getting close....if you haven’t pre-entered do so now! Pre-entry will close Wednesday night at midnight.

The Globe area has received over an inch of rain in the last few days which should make for great conditions this weekend. This year we are happy to say we have added 2.5 miles of new trail to the existing course. Two miles of the new trail is on a section of the Gila County Fairgrounds that has never seen trail before. It is literally all new and includes the horse track, tight single track, a grass track, and horse corral! We have also added ½ mile of new trail towards the beginning of the existing course that is a photographer’s dream, with green grass and perfect dirt!

Here are a few important notes about this year’s event at the Gila County Fairgrounds:
• The pit area has moved from the normal location to the asphalt on the north side of the registration building. See map below. Pit supplies in this area only please.
• The old pit area is now a full race zone. Please stay away from this area for your safety.
• There will be two road crossings on the Big Bike Course this year. When you show up to the race area be aware of the road crossing. If there is a race going on we will have it staffed with flaggers but still drive slow and be alert at all times please. Same thing goes for the racers, be sure the staff has the vehicles stopped before you proceed. Don’t assume.
• Please see the map below for parking areas, spectator areas, and a general guide to get you around.
• Support the food vendor. They will be in the registration building serving up some delicious eats.
• Show up early and stay late to watch some trials competitions! Central Arizona Trials (CAT) is putting on a trials event Saturday and Sunday after the hare scramble race is complete.
• The Renaissance Festival starts February 7th. If you are driving up the day of your race, please plan accordingly and don’t be late.
• Please be courteous when on the property. We have been fortunate to be allowed back year after year.

AWESOME races this past weekend!!

Carvolth Wraps Up 2015 AMRA Championship at Round 6

Round 6 of the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship Series, "The Prison Break Hare Scrambles", presented by Rock Stars MC was the place to race this past weekend. Thanks to rains the week before the event, much of the course was dust free and the new course layout allowed for close battles and passing opportunities.

On Saturday, 50cc mini racers were the first to take on some of the freshly cut singletrack followed by the 65cc and 85cc classes. Logan Schingeck took the Overall Win in the 50cc race after battling with Ayden Shortridge for the entire 30 minutes. In Mini Race #2, which included 85C and 65B/C classes, Michael Castadena got out to an early lead and never looked back for his 3rd win of the season. In Mini Race #3, Brock Cruzan put in another great ride for this 6th win of the season.

At Noon Saturday the C Class Race kicked off and racers got their first look at some of the new trails for this year's event. Despite the addition of several high-speed sections this year, it was Luis Kortright, Tristen Wilckens, and Chad LaMaide of the 250C Division that took the top 3 overall spots in the C Class.

At 9am Sunday morning, the green flag dropped for the Pro/A/B race. Cool temperatures over night restored much of the moisture in the ground and conditions remained mostly dust free for the 2 hour Hare Scramble. At the end of the day, Mitch Carvolth was able to take yet another win and seal the deal on the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship! Travis Epperson put in a great ride as well finishing just 30 seconds behind Carvolth and Daniel Martin finished 3rd after leading much of the first lap.
