Cam carrier bearing

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I'm after a bit of advice. Just picked up a 2002 crf450 with the bolt snapped that holds the cam cover on. The shorter of the 3 bolts that goes into the cam carrier. I have bought a cam carrier from eBay but it arrived without the bearing.

I can't seem to find the bearing listed anywhere and on the hot cams installation video (YouTube) they say this bearing is not removal. Is this correct? Or as anyone had success swapping out the bearings?

Clint

Part 25 you can buy, the other bearing is part of the cam and is permanent to it. A machine shop may be able to remove and re-index the cam but it will be cheaper and simpler in the long run to replace the cam if the bearing is bad.

Yes its part 25 that I thought maybe permanent. The other one will stay on my cam and go into the new holder. Thanks for the clarification.
