TRSLOGOdarkred.png?1423802709

The 9th Annual San Manuel Copper Classic is less than a month away and with only two rounds left in the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship Series, there are some great Championship battles shaping up. We should have great conditions in San Mannie and we have another great course for all skill levels with a few new elements this year.

For the Minis, the Copper Classic is the final round of the 2015 AMRA Motocity Mini Off Road Championship Series. There has been some great racing in our youth and mini races and we expect more with some Championships on the line. Mini racing in San Mannie kicks off early with the first races starting at 8:30 am. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to get through registration and tech before 8 am. We have some real fun course for the 50’s and 65’s and we will have a nice long loop for the 65A, 85B and 85A race. Full mini schedule to will be forthcoming.

Big Bikes, be ready for some long miles of great flowy single track and sand wash, 70-80 miles for A/B’s and 50-60 miles for C’s. Big Bike race starts at noon on Saturday.

The Knights of Columbus will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner and proceeds will benefit Mammoth/San Manuel Community Schools programs.

Pre-Entry is NOW OPEN! Be sure to pre-register to save some time come race day morning.

Martin Tastes Victory At Round 7 - The Copper Classic

San_Manuel_Podium2.jpg?1425861306

Round 7 of the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship Series in San Manuel, Arizona is always a racer’s favorite and this year was no different. Over 200 Big Bikes and 56 Minis showed up on Saturday to tackle the “long loop” courses laid out by the Trail Riders of Southern Arizona.

The Big Bike Hare Scramble kicked off at 12 noon and Daniel Martin was the guy to beat from the drop of the flag. Daniel jumped out to an early lead and didn’t look back, even after losing most of his muffler early on. Travis Epperson, after suffering from a bad start, battled his way through the pack and up to second place overall by the end of the 70 mile course. Nick Fouts claimed the final podium spot and his first AA/Overall Podium finish. Fouts even suffered a flat front tire late in the race but was able to bring it to the finish thanks to his Tubliss equipped tires.

Mitch Carvolth wrapped up the 2015 AMRA Motocity Off Road Championship at the previous round and sat this event out due to a scheduling conflict. Daniel Martin now sits a little more comfortably in second place, ahead of Travis Epperson, in the Overall and AA class standings with just one race to go in the 2015 AMRA Motocity Season. 2nd place however is not out of Epperson’s reach and it’s going to come down to the wire at Round 8 in Camp Wood, AZ.

Broc has had perfect season with 7 wins! Collier Martinez won Mini Race #2 and Ruffin Dodson was your fastest 50cc racer in Mini Race #3. Congratulations to all of our talented young riders!

Preliminary results are now posted. Questions about results should be sent to steward@amraracing.com or ministeward@amraracing.com Protest period ends Friday, March 13th.

Wow! What a race! 204 Big Bikes and 56 Minis! That is a record for TRS and the San Manuel Copper Classic. A sincere thank you to all of you who volunteered for this event and to all who came out and raced. It wouldn't have been possible without all of you!

The Copper Classic is starting to attract riders from all over, this year we had riders from Nevada, Mexico, New Hampshire, Idaho, Maine, and Montana! The racers loved the course and had a great time.

Next year marks the 10th San Manuel Copper Classic and we have some cool ideas to make next year even better! We hope to see you there!
