Neutral Switch Question

Anyone know what the neutral switch does on a 2000 YZ426. I'm gussing either change timing for easier starting or lower rev limiter wile in neutral. I got a ZipTy replacement cover

I've heard of grounding the neutral wire and I've heard of just disconnecting it

What should I do ? HELP

Thanks Rich

On 426's (2000-2002) the neutral switch is used to limit engine RPM when in neutral. This is for the Europeans so they can pass the sound check. On 400's it's not used so you can get the bypass and eliminate some wiring. I bought it and it cleaned up the harness a bit.

Thanks for the help
