No these trails were from Shanwnigan lake but not too far from Lake Cowichan

Ah, OK. Those are great looking trails.

I rode up by Lake Shawnigan on one of our trips up years ago, but it was just a power line run with my nephew and my son who were younger at the time.

I also rode up by Nanaimo and we rode some stuff that looks like the trails on the video.

I always wanted to do the Terra Nova Enduro. They still run that?

No they haven't run the Terra Nova in a few years unfortunately due to land issues. Hopefully it will not die I think the last time it ran was a few years ago and it had run for 51 or 52 years.

Oh, that's disappointing! It looked like one of the toughest enduros out there!

Hopefully it comes back!

I remember thinking "guys are running this thing on a trials bike, it must be tough"!

Well shit, turns out I was riding with a broken rib on Sat. Haha! Still had fun. I’m probably out for a few more weeks.

I just spent 3 days/370 miles riding the WABRDR and FS tracks like this around Mazama. Perfect conditions after the recent rain. Brought the 501 for ripping and the 620 ADV for classic backcountry cruising. They both have their charms. IMG_1048.JPG

If you can hang on another year or so Yamaha will do it for you with their much hyped 700 Tenere. This will be a very popular bike. Tuners will quickly overcome the brake and suspension limitations.

Due to the failure of my other bike I ended up with DRZ in Bellingham this morning. Instead of going straight home I took a round way. Crossed by FS17&18 plus the Mountain Loop Highway. That place really deserves the highway name. I made most of it on 5th and my biggest concern was all the traffic around. Anyhow:

Went for a solo ride for the Mad lake opener. Up Alder Ridge 197316357_IMG_20190713_1338411.jpg.0683437966e01166d9b7b9162ec2bf81.jpg

Then Lost Lake

Hunters trail

Two little lakes. Sure wish people would not ride in the meadows as they are so soft it wont take much to tear them up, don't be self centered. Those tracks wont go away for a while and will just attract other riders.

Klone Peak and down Chikamin.  They are benching Chikamin close to the bottom end of the upper trail and have a lot of blocks at the trail crew's camp at the trail head

that will be going in to stop the rutting of the trail ,so be aware. The road has been brought back to a nice road and is closed at the gate on the left  at approx 5 miles as your going in, so no access to that trail head. I'm guessing until the project is over.

Thanks for the beautiful pictures. Do I need to pack a chainsaw or have most trails been cleared?

Nice! Haven’t ridden Goat yet this summer, it’s on the list when the rib heals up. I stalled on that rock once, haha! It’s always hooked up pretty good for me in the dry.

When your ready let me know, I can show you the way from the Easton side

Im in. That’s the way I usually ride it. Easton is only an hour drive. As soon as this rib heals up, I’m game.
