Should I paint my frame orange?

Debating whether or not to paint my frame ktm orange. Frame is in good condition just want to change the colour up. I will be spray painting it if I decide to. Do I need to sandblast it or just clean it up then paint over the factory grey?

I wouldn't strip that framer for paint only powder, with the shape it's in I'd ride it.

I don't like the look of the orange frames.  Plus if you're just spray painting it will look like crap as soon as it starts chipping and flaking.

Orange frame and get some clear vynil to stick on frame rails etc. (places that get chipped) and use a clear coat too to protect it.

I painted mine orange. Do what ever you want. I had a white frame once. I think black does the best.

The frame comes from KTM powder-coated, so spraying it would be inferior.  I have spray painted steel frames in the past with good success and it all comes down to prep.  However I wish I would have left my old KTM alone after I sprayed it.  After stripping the old paint off and prepping everything it wasn't cheap and for a little more I could have had it sand blasted and powder-coated by someone locally.

 

Now if this was an old Japanese steel framed bike I would say go for it as the paint sucked on those anyway.

That bike is too clean and new to have a rattle can paint job. If you want an orange frame spend the cash and get it done right, or leave it alone imo.
