Hot cams?

Thinking about installing hot cam into my 450r I was just wondering do I need to change my stock valves for this cam? Do I need to change anything to be able to run this? Also which stage is better stage1 or 2? Thanks

Hot cams use stock springs and valves. Stage 2 is better about same on bottom but more on top. Hot cams has dyno sheets on their site but only on 02 to 08,

All depends on where you are looking for more power and what mods are done to bike. Stage 1 & 2 use stock springs, and some of the Builders series cams require stronger springs. I put a stage 1 in my 2013 CRF450 and it runs much better than stock. I race mostly MX, the bike had plenty of top end speed, just needed to get there faster, stage 1 fixed it.

I'd use the '02 R cam 

The most aggressive OEM cam

I have an RHC cam that runs on stock springs  An other engine builder and freind terry Varner had tryed the hot cams first and ended up liking the RHC cam the best .

The stage two cam has a more 'peaky' feel to it.

The OEM '02R cam does not.
