cr144 versus sx150

Recommended Posts

Hi you all,

Hope you can shine some light on this subject.

I am looking to buy a 2 stroke mx bike, but with just a little more oomph than a 125 since I am 190 lbs. As I think a 250 is maybe a little too much for me I am considering a 144.

I found a wel maintained KTM SX 150 2009 but now I just ran into a nice 2008 Husqvarna cr 144.

Can somebody tell me about the differences between those bikes?

I know the KTM is not just an 'overbored' 125, also the stroke is altered. I read a lot about the KTM but don't know much about the husky. How do they compare?

TIA,

Jacco

Both are good bikes.  Do you have decent Husky dealers in your country that have basic parts on hand?

Let me help you with an secret weapon. Get the cr and buy the WB165 kit from Halls cycles USA.

To get the skinny on this kit, go to cafehusky.com. Good Luck on whatever you choose.

Get your suspension done and see what the locals run for tires.

Enjoy !

Thanks!

I think my suspension is pretty dialed in allready. Previous owner had Van Laar Racing (dutch specialist in suspension tuning) tune the suspension and he weighs about the same as me, 80 kg (lost a few pound).

Yesterday bought mx trousers and a shirt, allready have the helmet, boots ans knee protectors. Just need a protection vest/harness, pair of gloves and goggles.

Gotta a deadline: may 23. I enlisted for a training on a nearby mx track! Will be my first experience on an mx track, very excited.

Does anybody know about getting the wb165? I emailed motorsportz today and they dont offer it anymore.

Go over to Cafe Husky Italian 2 stroke section, find a 165 thread and look for wallybean.  Walt builds the kits.

He's in this thread....

You can try Hall's Husky or Bill's Motorcycles Plus, as they usually stock the kit.
