EBC MX Copper Sinter Pads Have Destroyed Brake Rotor on DR250

I have just fitted new EBC Copper Sinter pads to my DR today and after giving it a short test ride to bed in the pads they have destroyed the front rotor. It now has grooves and deep scoring to the surface of the rotor and pads.

What could have caused this? The caliper is working fine and the sliders aern't seized.

A cheap bit of maintenance has now turned into an expensive repair.
