[DR 350 S '92] New Engine

Hello guys ?

 

I have an old Suzuki DR 350 S '92 with a broken engine (the piston hit the valves in the cylinder head) and I cannot find any reasonably priced replacement parts. I am therefore considering a complete engine swap. But instead of putting in the same engine again, I want to switch to a newer one. Doesn't need to be a Suzuki engine, it should probably just fit the engine bay ? Has anyone here ever done this and could give me a hand in what I need to look after?
