Wheelie gearing

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty sure my gearing is rather high but no clue I top out at 70 and it feels like she's going to explode. What gearing should I move to to get more out of wheelies but still be good in the dirt/street? I can't get a wheelie over 25 because she doesn't have the umf. Lemme know thanks guys!!

Depends on how much engine you have? I'm geared 15/38 and can pull stand up wheelies in 4th @ 60 mph. If your topping out at 70 I would look towards technique before gearing. Might also be time to start the modding process.

E model, SM trim.

Full scorpian system

Rejet

15-40 W/ 150/60 rear tyre

Clutch up in 4th (standing on the seat, needs a small pop)

All down to Technique.

16/39 on SM wheels will wheelie if I hit a bump on the throttle in 4th.

16/45 on dirt wheels and will wheelie any time it isn't digging a trench.

A stock bike in all honesty stock gearing is the best compromise.  I used to swap the front from a 15 to a 14 for off road but I really noticed it on the commute.  If you don't need to run above 60 on the stock S/E wheels 14/44 or 15/47 for sure. SM is 15/41 stock.

There are advantages to having a  fire breathing 470 :ride:
