Does any body know of any spots to ride in southeast michigan? I usually ride trails up north in the kalkaska area, but i want to find a spot where i can get on the bike for an afternoon without traveling all that way.
I live around metro detroit, any places within an hour would be great.

2. Nelson Hills

With the exception of the Alamo area all riding areas can be reached generally within an hours travel time depending what side of town you’re coming from.
You've heard my top ten...let's hear yours. Post them here.
This list was compiled in no particular order just depends on what terrain you want to ride and all areas have both single and double track (for you quad guys).
Some areas have BLM, Lake Mead Recreation Area, Private Land and other out of bound areas so beaware of where your at when riding.
And it wasn't nearly as bad as I've heard. I actually liked it a lot better than Carnegie because I enjoy trails better than climbing hills all day, although Frank Raines has some pretty knarly hills if you're into that. By 6:00 me and my buddies were literally the only people in the park, I had a blast.
Unless something drops out of the sky on me or I can’t find a place to camp, I’m gonna hit Sandy Valley MX for practice on my way to the TTAZ ride. I ain’t quite sure where SVMX is, but I’ll find it.
Anyway, I’ll be there on 8-16-07 – I know that’s a ways off, but I gots to plan this thing since I’m so far away.
