Round 1 AMRA Fly Racing Off Road Mini Series

The summer is almost over and the 2016 AMRA Racing Season is here! The 2016 Season will start in a slightly different fashion than in years past with the first event being a minis only event. Although we will be hosting the AMRA Ride Day and New Rider Open House later in the same day, the morning racing will be only for the minis. Round 1 for the Big Bikes is 2 weeks later in Camp Wood, AZ. Stay tuned for details on that event.

Pre-entry is open for Round 1 of the 2016 AMRA Fly Racing Off Road Mini Series and the Rock Stars MC have already been out in the heat working on the courses. We are super excited to have Fly Racing on board as title sponsor of the Mini Series this year and you do not want to miss this first event! Get your entry in today!

2016 AMRA New Rider Open House and Ride Day

After a highly successful event in 2015, the AMRA New Rider Open House and Ride Day is back for another year! Come help us kick off the 2016 Season and welcome any new riders. We will have 2016 KTM demo bikes to ride from Motocity KTM, a rider training clinic by Factory Beta's Max Gerston, motorcycle skills carnival games, a singletrack desert loop, and a fundraiser BBQ by the Tri-city Fire Department. Proceeds from the BBQ will benefit Muscular Dystrophy via Fill The Boot. Hope to see you there!

Kicking Off The Season In Globe, AZ

An exciting day of racing and good times started off early Saturday morning in Globe, AZ with Round 1 of the 2016 AMRA Fly Racing Off Road Mini Series. The mostly singletrack, 2.5 mile course laid out by the Rock Stars MC was a big hit for all the riders. DJ Weber was the fastest rider of the day taking the win in the Supermini class.

After a fantastic lunch provided by the Tri City Fire Department, the AMRA New Rider Open House and Ride Day kicked off where riders had the chance to test their skills and set their best times in the Endurocross, Escargot course, Balance Beam, and also spin some laps on a desert singletrack loop!

To know one's surprise, Max Gerston set the fastest times of the day in every event but Caleb Lamca was the winner of the FREE entry to OCMC's Rockin' GP in April with his great performance on the balance beam.

The highlight of the day for many was Max Gerston's Endurocross clinic in the afternoon. Max took the time to demonstrate some techniques and also worked with each rider individually to help them master each obstacle. Having raced with AMRA himself on an 85, Max is a true role model to our young riders! Well done Max!

*New requirement for the Sheridan Mountain Showdown in Camp Wood on September 27th. For the foreseeable future the Prescott National Forest Service is requiring all racers to have a Gas Mat under their bike when re-fueling and working on the motorcycle to prevent gas, oil and coolant to be spilled on the ground. This requirement is for the camping / staging area and the gas pit. There will be a designated filling area at the gas pit that ALL racers have to use, this is mandatory. Racers that fail to do so will be subject to a fine, penalty, or disqualification from the event. The gas mat needs have an absorbent top with a rubber backing to prevent gas, oil, or coolant from leaking through. It is recommended that all jetting and fueling of your bike is done before you get to the event. If you have any questions please call Todd Berger at 480-318-5504
