Gear oil in engine?

I put gear oil in the engine side. Will any of the g/oil travel to the filter without cranking it?

Was looking for a different oil to try with the Rekluse and decided to change it next time and never put it back away, Then the phone rings, had to pick up the children, got home and full it up with oil so I'm blaming my wife for ringing.

The fill and drains are confusing on these engines so go easy on yourself, and your spouse.  Maybe why Honda specs the same oil for both.

Short use of gear oil in the engine won't hurt it.

I would just change it, run it until it gets hot and change again it you are concerned about it, cost of oil isnt worth worrying.

Try Rotella for the rekluse, the company actually recommends it. I run it in both sides, makes things so much simpler and its only a couple dollars worth to change both sides.
