What GPS is good for Alberta, Canada

Recommended Posts

McLean creek sounds familiar. I am in Lethbridge area. Ride in the crowsnest pass all summer.

There's a gps thread somewhere here on Thumpertalk.

I ditched my Garmin for an app on my phone. Originally I used my tablet, stuck it in the map pocket on my tank bag. No tank bag on my current bikes, so it's on the phone in my waist pack.

The Garmin was $$$ for what it was, top maps were an extra $100 or so, and too small for my ancient eyeballs. The tablet wasn't as durable, but a lot more useful. It has shop manuals for all 5 bikes on it...

The app I use is backcountry navigator. The trial version is free, or was.

I live in a little aceridge just outside Balzac. Have you ever gone to the Blackfoot track?

I used to take my 500 Scrambler quad there years ago but have not been there recently. $25 to ride in a circle when I can ride for hours in Kananaskis country for free.
