XT350 brake help needed

Recommended Posts

About a month ago I did full service on my XT350. All fluids changed, grease, etc.

I drained brake fluid. I loosened caliper to check pads. Pads were fine.

Replaced brake fluid and proceeded to bleed brakes. I could not get brakes to bleed. Tried for an hour- nothing.

Next night I went out to garage and found puddle of brake fluid on floor. Front brake cable wet.Replaced hose.

Tried bleeding brakes-nothing. I then noticed that after I tightened bleed screw the fluid was actually going back into caliper.

Bingo- faulty bleed screw. Replaced bleed screw and removed brake line and double checked washers.

Just tried for an hour- nothing! !!!!

The fluid is no longer moving back to caliper. I pump brake lever 15-20 times, hold and loosen bleeder.Watch for bubbles. Close bleeder. Release handle.

I am out of ideas.

Anybody have any?

I have refilled the reservoir 3 times with no air bubbles.

I've done this before on my bike- was never a problem

I spent days trying to bleed the brake on my xt600. Finally used a mityvac to back bleed em. Took about half an hour. Did you bleed every connection?
