PIZ Posted November 3, 2015 Son bought a used 2007 Thumpstar 110cc. It runs great, but just started bogging out. Do you have to clean the engine fins after riding it each time? Could that cause it to bog and die? I'll have lots more questions I think.
PIZ Posted November 4, 2015 I should add that it ran good until it got hot, then bogged down. I am going to add a pro taper xr50 bar set also, but I am assuming I'll need a longer throttle cable because these bars are higher. Any tips on doing this?

The air filters that come on these bikes are generally pretty terrible. Try cleaning the fuel system first.
PIZ Posted November 5, 2015 Thanks. I noticed the previous owner removed the air filter and just has a hose running up. I'll see if I can get an air filter installed. Thanks.
thejunkman Posted November 6, 2015 Thanks. I noticed the previous owner removed the air filter and just has a hose running up. I'll see if I can get an air filter installed. Thanks. That is your problem, you or the PO had been just sucking in dirt all this time. A carb cleaning and an air filter is your solution.
PIZ Posted November 6, 2015 Thanks. Not sure where to find parts for this, but I'll figure it out.
thejunkman Posted November 7, 2015 Thanks. Not sure where to find parts for this, but I'll figure it out. Universal pod air filters can be ordered by size almost anywhere MC parts are sold.

PIZ Posted November 19, 2015 Thanks tbolt. I think I just ordered some parts from you. He was riding it and it stopped running. Tried starting it and nothing. Now the bike gets NO SPARK. Had a friend small engine mechanic look at it and he can't figure it out. It does not have a kill switch or electric start. You kick start it and nothing. No spark at all. Any ideas?
