Bike stutters and acts like its fuel starved!

Recommended Posts

I just bought this bike a few weeks ago and it ran great then when I took it to the track I noticed it cut out when I get on the gas. I cleaned the carb and the idle jet was clogged but that's it. I thought that fixed it but I just started doing it again but mostly only when I really get on the gas and also when I'm in fifth gear going down the road. I was just wondering what it could be? Thanks

drain the old gas and re clean the carb, while in there check the jetting.

adding a fuel filter inline between the petcock and carb wouldn't hurt.

after buying the bike what maintenance did you do to her?

Does it do fine when you roll on the throttle slower rather than just opening it up? If so check the components and timing of the AP circuit in the carb, you may have a bad diaphragm or poorly timed squirt.

What year?

Sounds like a main jet issue, or blocked fuel filter if its F/I.

It does better when I do that
