socali-250 Posted November 4, 2015 I went to put the drain plug back in and stripped it I guess, Im assuming it was already stripped considering a used literally no force. How should I go about this?
barbwire44 Posted November 4, 2015 fix it with a time-sert. much better than a heli coil.
HRC4 My Rides (2) Posted November 5, 2015 I have repaired them using an oversize stainless bolt end cut to the original thread length, and drill and tapped back out to the original thread.. Then tap the case to the outer thread size and use permanent Loctite to secure it.. A lathe is your friend here.
KillerK Posted November 5, 2015 fix it with a time-sert. much better than a heli coil.X2 be sure you drill and tap it straight or you may have sealing issues. Measure max length you can drill before hitting something internally and put a depth stop or marking on your drill.
