Majd Alhasan Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Hello I have a dirt bike 110 cc and I've got a problem with the idle on it when the bike is cold I always have to tighten the idle screw to get it started but when it gets warmer the bike will idle way too high and then I have to loosen the screw I have to do this every time and I've recently took out the whole carb and cleaned everything in it the carburetor is a VM 22 mikuni and it doesn't help if I use the choke Edited November 5, 2015 by Majd Alhasan
Swes Posted November 5, 2015 (edited) Tune pilot circuit , too lean Use the choke till bike is warm doesn't work , does the choke do anything? Edited November 5, 2015 by Swes
Majd Alhasan Posted November 5, 2015 The choke can help turn over the engine but it will not let it idle and what is the pilot circuit
mr.motor Posted November 7, 2015 When you remove carb check to make sure your choke works, it should be a plate that covers the airway. If it wasnt clogged, Your pilot jet is way too lean, replace that. Try giving a few squirts of throttle before starting the bike.
Majd Alhasan Posted November 7, 2015 My carb doesn't have a butterfly for a choke and I checked the spark plug many times and its always a rusty brown color could it still be lean some how
KRAYNIAL My Rides (5) Posted November 8, 2015 Once the motor is hot, adust your air screw for highest idle, THEN adjust the idle screw for correct idle You should be using the choke to start if the idle is too low
Majd Alhasan Posted November 15, 2015 Could making the pilot jet bigger work because it seems to be running optimally
KRAYNIAL My Rides (5) Posted November 19, 2015 Could making the pilot jet bigger work because it seems to be running optimally You choose pilot jet size ONLY by where the fuel screw settings are finalized. You turn the screw out for highest idle. This number of turns tells you if your pilot is the right size. Less than one turn, it's too big. More than 2 it's too small. Majd Alhasan Posted November 20, 2015 So do I just turn screw all the way in and turn it out
gary.h Posted November 20, 2015 Yes and no. Turn it in and the back it out 1 1/2 turns. From there you make adjustments to the air screw till the highest idle speed is reached.
Majd Alhasan Posted November 21, 2015 I have a problem the adjustment screw is in a very hard to reach place I can't fit a screw driver in there
KRAYNIAL My Rides (5) Posted November 21, 2015 I have a problem the adjustment screw is in a very hard to reach place I can't fit a screw driver in there we all do https://www.google.com/search?q=R%26D+fuel+screw&rlz=1C1CHMO_enUS529US530&oq=R%26D+fuel+screw&aqs=chrome..69i57.3527j0j9&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-
Majd Alhasan Posted November 21, 2015 Does this work on all bikes
KRAYNIAL My Rides (5) Posted November 21, 2015 Does this work on all bikes It works on your bike....isn't that the important part? 90% of all carbureted dirt bikes use the same carb....
