tommo1968 Posted November 5, 2015 HI thought I would have a go at replacing the clutch plates and put stronger springs in as it looked easy.It was but the bloody clutch won't engage now and the lever is slack.I haven't even looked if the decom works yet.Is there an easy way of aligning it all when your putting the cover back on? Cheers guys.
Trailryder42 Posted November 5, 2015 If you put everything back together properly then the only thing I can think of it being is that when putting the cover back on, you didn't get the lever in the cover to engage with the lifter pin.
tommo1968 Posted November 5, 2015 Thanks for replying. It was exactly that and its now sorted. Will know next time.It now works perfect and even starts in gear with no drag at all.Mind you I will have a forearm like Popeye as the stronger springs are really tough to pull lol.Just happy to have the old girl back on the road.Such a great little bike to ride :-)
Muzz67 My Rides (4) Posted November 6, 2015 Well done. Gotta use the long levers with HD springs. Shorties just havent enough leverage. Dont try shorties on drum brakes either, same reason.
