  • Opted out of the mounted 'built for...' plaque mounted to the frame- will mount myself under the seat (kind a tacky thing, if you ask me....)

11.10.15

  • Guts Racing tall/meduim seat foam and red/black cover ordered. I will add foam to this seat, and scupt it with a electric carving knife.

Purchased basic hour meter for new bike

11.11.15

Beta confirmed my request that threaded bar inserts will be used on the Cycra Probend handguards

Sweet!

Is the build date here in California?

As I thought with my BYOB it was basically a standard (off the shelf) bike coming from Italy, and it was assembled per my requirements in California, Yes/No?

Very nice Bill. You already know how well the Tubliss system  works. The preload adjuster is worth every penny! Nothing more than a cordless drill and 8mm socket for instant adjustments.

I'm excited to see how well the suspension works for you. I wonder why you didn't choose the RS model? Or do you plan on plating this one?

IT DON'T KNOW

I BELIEVE THE RACE EDITION COMES 'FINISHED' FROM ITALY, BUT THE BYOB ACCESSORIES ARE INSTALLED AT THE DEALER OF CHOICE.

So my bike will look like this bike:

4-stroke-RHside-HR_zpsjkbg2pen.jpg

....but with the simpler graphics on the plastics...

RR-4-stroke-RH-outside-HR_zpspontww01.jp

....and I will most likely remove the swingarm and rim graphics as well.....

I may even remove all  the red anodizing on the 'RE' parts to make the bike look less garish.

BYOB is performed in California, if the desired changes don't run afoul of some arcane law, in which case the parts get added to he crate and the delivering dealer or customer gets to add them (eg fuel tanks and exhaust systems).

Good news - the rim stickers are applied at the dealer. Alas, the swingarm decal is applied at the factory.

I know a guy with the hook up to remove them...

California, as in Paso Robles Beta, I assume...

Just wondering if the different map has been confirmed?  From what ive been told that is unknown at this time.

I was told by somebody I spoke to at a dealer or at BETA USA, that 2016 FI Fourstrokes had (4) maps:

- RS map (epa compliant)

- RR map (non-epa compliant)

- RRRE map 1 and 2 via the switch

I have no proof of this

You know it has one in the instrument cluster ?

I wondered how long it would take for someone to bring that up......you win at 15 minutes!

I did it because I have had poor luck with Trail Tech quality.

I have had (5) different Voyagers and Endurance units go dead on me in the last 7 years.

When they go, the total run hours go with it.....

Trail tech replaced (2) out of the 5 that stopped working, the rest got replaced by me or not replaced at all.

This el-chepo hour meter will go inside the airbox for a 'fail-safe' hour clock.

It's been a while since I bought a new bike...

Is the std one a trail tech ? Or is this a US spec ? Mine is like a berg one so I'm told to me it looks like a KTM meter buy I'm normally a Jappa rider.
